NI565 Ice characteristics and ice/structure interactions

This Guidance Note provides data and guidance for the calculations of the forces generated by the ice on ships and offshore units operating in ice infested waters. NI565 gives informations on the different types of ice and on their mechanical properties and also gives some analytical formulae and methodologies with respect to the different modes of failure of the ice.
