Structure

Technical Bulletin 2008

Summary

Managing structural fatigue onboard ships requires either fitted approaches for existing fleet and new tools to prevent the emergence of new fatigue sources such as whipping or springing. The papers in this section focus on risk based maintenance versus crack propagation and prediction of fatigue loads resulting from hydrodynamic structural interaction in large containerships.
