Leaflet on procedures for obtaining derogations or equivalences of ES-TRIN for specific craft

The CESNI Secretariat is regularly asked by the public for information on the procedure for derogations and equivalences from technical requirements. In order to ensure transparent and comprehensive information, in the context of both the EU and the CCNR legal frameworks, CESNI decided to publish a leaflet on its website. The procedure described facilitates the gaining of experience with pilot projects (e.g., alternative fuels) and actively supports innovation and greening of the fleet.

A leaflet providing information on the procedure for derogations and equivalences for technical requirements has been published by the CESNI Secretariat. A summary of the procedures, as well as an estimation of the timeframe, is attached below:

 The timing of steps I to III is identical for both Rhine and Union Certificates but, for the last step (approval process), the difference in the time-frame is 2 weeks as opposed to 12 months.
