ESTRIN in the EU languages

ES-TRIN 2017 is mandatory both for ED/2016/1629 (EU countries) and Rhine Rules (CCNR countries). Since the 7th of October, 2018 the ESTRIN version in force is the ESTRIN 2017.

The ESTRIN 2017 is available in the following languages:

 -      in English, French, Dutch and German

-     in Bulgarian, Czech, Croatian, Hungarian, Italian, Lithuanian, Polish, Romanian and Slovak

-     The next version will be the ES-TRIN 2019 coming into force on the 1st of January, 2020.

ADN

ADN2019 entered into force on January 1st, 2019.

During the January session of the ADN Safety Committee several issues were discussed:

-       Harmonization of the format of loading and unloading instructions;

-       Use of LNG boil-off as fuel: the Safety Committee agreed that the existing provisions in the IGC Code of IMO should be the basis for the development of equivalent provisions for ADN;

-       Explosion groups and subgroups: the transitional provisions for 9.3.x.24 and 9.3.x.21.1 will be deleted ; a proposal of amendment will be discussed during the next session (Aug 2019);

On the use of tanks larger than 1000 m3: noting the current trend towards an increasing use of large cargo tanks, the need to develop specific provisions will be further discussed..
