NR527 Ships Operating in Polar Waters and Icebreakers

This Rule Note applies to ships constructed of steel and intended for navigation in ice-infested polar waters, including icebreakers. NR527 provides requirements for the assignment of the additional class notations POLAR CLASS, service notations icebreaker, and additional service features POLAR CAT.
