Based out of Singapore, Shanghai, and Kuala Lumpur, our Offshore Center of Excellence teams unite our expertise to support our clients’ challenging projects.
By combining strong regional expertise with the Bureau Veritas global technical network, the Center of Excellence supports a wide range of offshore assets, including FPSOs, FSOs, FSRUs, FLNGs, floating wind turbines, and drilling units. The Center provides a comprehensive suite of services covering classification, certification, verification, and advisory activities. These services include, but are not limited to, regulatory compliance support, hydrodynamic and structural analyses, safety studies, new technology qualification, sustainability advisory, and cybersecurity services.
The Center team is a local and readily accessible point of contact, capable of rapid engagement and responsive support. The team’s strong understanding of client needs, combined with direct access to Bureau Veritas experts worldwide, ensures timely, practical, and high-quality technical solutions.

Demonstrating continued leadership
Bureau Veritas’ long-standing offshore energy expertise has led to our involvement in a wide range of complex floating and offshore projects. We have certified numerous offshore platforms and FPSOs, including more than 70 offshore platforms in the North Sea and 80 in Asia.
Notable recent projects include the classification of CNOOC’s Kaiping FPSO, the largest cylindrical FPSO in Asia Pacific; Alam Guyub FLNG, the first FLNG project in Indonesia; and Sepat, OceanStar’s first FPSO in Malaysia.

The Asia Pacific region is a strategic location for our Offshore Center of Excellence due to its pivotal role in the global offshore industry. Most offshore engineering and construction activities are executed in this region, where many EPC contractors have established their main operational offices. The recovery of oil and gas activities in Southeast Asia further strengthens the demand for technical and assurance services.
In parallel, Asia Pacific is experiencing rapid growth in offshore renewable energy, particularly offshore wind, creating new opportunities aligned with the energy transition. Locating the Center of Excellence in this region ensures our close proximity to key clients, projects, and emerging markets across both traditional and renewable offshore sectors.
