The following message has been received from Sierra Leone Maritime Administration

Dear Sirs,

Good day. 

It has been noticed that there are vessels which do not report their position though LRIT, as required by Maritime Circular No.25.

If for any reason the terminal is deactivated, the shipowners shall immediately inform the administration detailing the reasons of the deactivation. 

In case that a terminal is deactivated or stops working without the Administration being informed, a penalty shall be imposed due to non-compliance.

Registration Officers & ROs shall communicate this email to all shipowners/managers in order to ensure that all LRIT systems onboard all Sierra Leonean vessels are in full working condition.
