PPR 10 finalized amendments to : regulation 13.2.2 of MARPOL Annex VI, requirements for chemicals, Protocol for verification of ballast water compliance monitoring devices, Guidelines for thermal waste treatment devices, Guidelines for Biofouling and for the Inventory of Hazardous Materials devices.

The tenth session of the Sub-Committee on Pollution Prevention on Response (PPR 10) was held in person in London from 24 to 28 April 2023, with hybrid facilities allowing remote participation.

 

PPR 10 finalized: 

  • amendments to regulation 13.2.2 of MARPOL Annex VI on a marine diesel engine replacing a “steam system and the associated guidelines 
  • amendments to list 1 and 3 of MEPC.2/Circular concerning the carriage requirements of chemicals 
  • draft 2023 Protocol for verification of ballast water compliance monitoring devices and the associated draft BWM.2 circular 
  • draft 2023 Guidelines for thermal waste treatment devices 
  • draft revised Biofouling Guidelines 
  • draft 2023 Guidelines for the development of the Inventory of Hazardous Materials devices and the associated draft MEPC resolution 

These texts will be submitted for adoption at MEPC 80.

 

PPR 10 approved the following Unifed Interpretations : 

  • the date of major conversion in BWM Certificate 
  • the electronic Bunker Delivery Note (eBDN)
