Bureau Veritas Offshore Technical Committee 2022

Bureau Veritas (BV) recently hosted its annual Offshore Technical Committee meeting. Over 20 committee members and other attendees joined to discuss BV recent developments and Rule updates. Committee members are made up of technical experts in the offshore industry including offshore renewable energy.

This year's event was an opportunity to share the latest NI on Fixed Offshore Substations and Unbonded Flexible Pipes published in April.

Our Offshore Technical Committee focused on decarbonisation and discussed the  challenges for floating offshore wind industry. It was very insightful and we were pleased to see OPERA, the BV software for the verification of floating unit and the guideline NI682 dedicated to substations. The afternoon brought additional technical topics such as flexibles risers certification according to the guideline NI364 updated in April, SHM (Structural Health Monitoring) and 3D CLASSIFICATION.
