Bureau Veritas has been recognized as Classification Society of the Year at the 17th International ShipTek Awards, held in Singapore.

At ShipTek, key maritime industry players and policymakers came to the Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Centre, Singapore for a one-day conference during Singapore Maritime Week 2023.
The highly anticipated International ShipTek Awards were presented during the event, honoring operators, employers, yards and service providers alike. The recognition is given to commend entities for their significant, innovative and visionary contribution to the maritime sector. David Barrow, VP Marine & Offshore , South Asia Zone, based in Singapore, collected the award on behalf of all BV employees.

Brainstorming sustainable growth solutions
The focus of the event, inaugurated by Sir Sohan Roy, Founder, Chairman and CEO of Aries Group of Companies, was to collaborate in enabling long-term business growth. Discussions included the latest innovations, new technologies, and the future of the shipping industry – including facing up to the challenge of reducing carbon emissions. Panelists emphasized the need for the industry to work together to build a sustainable and prosperous future.
