CAMEROON RECEIVES FIRST FLNG
Golar LNG’s exciting development, in the Kribi field off the coast of Cameroon, included the world’s first FLNG conversion hooked up to a soft yoke mooring system.
The conversion project—from a Moss LNG carrier dating from 1975—has a storage capacity of 125,000 cubic meters. It is also Cameroon’s first FLNG. The Hilli Episeyo is designed for a liquefaction capacity of about 2.4 million tons of LNG per year and is in operation for Cameroon’s Société Nationale des Hydrocarbures and Perenco Cameroon.
The MWS scope successfully conducted by MatthewsDaniel included technical review and SafeTrans transit analysis of the FLNG from Singapore to Offshore Cameroon. Additionally, MatthewsDaniel ensured attendance associated with the loadout, transportation and installation of subsea infrastructure, the soft yoke mooring system and hook up, and pull-in of the riser and umbilical onto the Hilli FLNG deployment in 2019.
