FIND YOUR PATH
At Bureau Veritas we understand the challenges you face in designing, building, and operating a truly sustainable maritime business.
We know that each vessel will start its decarbonization journey from a different place, with different needs, and move at a different pace.
We’re by your side to help you navigate that journey. Find your path with us.
In the 25 remaining years until 2050, there are many challenges ahead, and many questions the maritime industry must answer.
There is no single path to decarbonize the maritime industry. Around 200,000 vessels make up today’s global fleet: multiple ship types and sizes, serving markets with widely different needs. To add to the complexity, each of these ships has an average service life of 20 to 25 years.
Decarbonizing the maritime industry means finding viable routes to cut emissions from this existing fleet while identifying the most promising fuels, technologies and designs for future ships.
At Bureau Veritas, we address complexity and uncertainty with a realistic, pragmatic approach grounded in decades of expertise and the far-reaching insight of a group active in all aspects of the global supply chain.
To help our customers to find their path, we set up the Future Shipping Team. This network subject matter experts from across Bureau Veritas Marine & Offshore – and the wider Bureau Veritas Group – supports those that want to challenge the status quo of the maritime industry.
Uniting this deep understanding of global supply chains, we support our customers in making futureproof choices around sustainability, technology and innovation on their path to 2050 and beyond.
From our suite of class Rules for sustainable shipping, to sustainability strategy planning and green financing services, our class experts and our technical advisory teams support you in acting to reduce emissions now, while planning for the future.
There is a long road ahead to 2050, but we’re by your side helping you navigate this journey. Find your path with us.
