Conducting safe and efficient operations throughout a vessel’s lifetime is paramount for onboard and onshore management teams. Well-defined procedures that focus on mitigating risk are critical to achieving these objectives. Our assurance services provide ship owners and operators with innovative, up-to-date solutions to help them define and improve procedures, while better managing the myriad of risks associated with ship operations or reactivation.
To avoid costly incidents, ship owners and operators need reassurance that their operational and risk management procedures are sufficiently comprehensive, relevant and precise. As the offshore market improves, having defined procedures for reactivating laid-up offshore service and DP vessels – both prior to and during resumption of operations – also presents a significant challenge, with a limited number of experienced OSV personnel available.
- Our in-depth knowledge of marine assurance offers reassurance that your procedures are safe and conform to industry-wide best practices
- Our highly qualified experts understand the operational needs of vessel management teams, and support our clients through all phases of operation
- Our comprehensive reactivation assessments help you reactivate laid-up offshore service and DP vessels by preparing them for class surveys
Design of procedures
Bureau Veritas Solutions Marine & Offshore offers production of Operational procedures for shipboard management systems. We ensure the safe loading of offshore structures for transportation, using skidded, lifted, float-over, and trailered methods.
Our experienced technical experts perform regulatory Gap Analysis against IMO, flag state, and coastal state requirements for vessel operations. We also offer incident investigation and failure analyses in the case of casualty, near casualty, or mechanical failure.
Bureau Veritas Solutions Marine & Offshore provide loading, securing (sea fastening), and transport/tow surveys for marine transportation of all kinds, including barges and all types of self-propelled vessels. We then arrange and attend acceptance trials to ensure the seaworthiness of your vessels
Lay-up and reactivation of ships and OSVs
Bureau Veritas Solutions Marine & Offshore inspects vessels which have been cold laid-up to prepare them for class surveys. We conduct reactivation assessments for ships, OSVs, and DP vessels according to standard industry criteria, and with the option of inspection to an individual charterer or ship owner’s specifications.
